1. Bingsu (빙수)
Take your pick of topping... redbean, fruit, coffee, cheese (or perhaps all of the above) and mix it in a bowl of shaved ice and condensed milk. A new place has come my city this month (설빙; Seol-Bing) which is akin to eating flavourful snow and has trumped any bingsu I've ever had .
2. Beaches
Living on the coast provides a plethora of beaches to choose from. Need I say more? Where I'm from in Canada, there was one decent beach nearby but you risked growing an extra limb if you made contact with the water.
3. Convenience Store Conveniences
4. Horror Movies
During summer, people in Korea like to watch scary movies to invite chills and ward off the heat. Perhaps the chills come from being indoors with the A/C on high. Regardless of the theory's truth, scary movies good.
5. Boryeong Mud Festival (보령 머드 축제)
I haven't attended this festival since my first year in Korea but those memories still remain some of the best I've had in Korea and on such a simple premise: head to a small-ish town, enjoy festivities, drink beer, get covered in mud.
